The author has taken the questions of state board examinations, many of which he finds have been repeatedly asked and has given brief answers. An effort has been made to maintain a continuity of subject matter, and a carefully arranged index makes it possible to readily find any subject. In brief, the book is a quiz-compend covering the subjects usually contained in a state board examination. Although at their best such compends are unsatisfactory, some will find this book useful. It will be of service in guiding the student to a knowledge of what points are apt to be included in an examination and hence it will direct him in his preparation.
