The first General Session of the Association assembled in the Music Hall at the hour named upon the programme. The meeting was called to order by the Chairman of the Committee of Arrangements, Dr. H. R. Storer, of Newport, who presented the President of the Association, Dr. W. W. Dawson. After prayer by the venerable Dr. Thayer, the senior clergyman of Newport, letters of regret were read from the following: Vice-President L. P. Morton; Hon. J. W.
