Abstract

Through his experience as a teacher of obstetrics and gynecology and as the medical head of Sloane Hospital for Women, where over 1,800 deliveries occur annually, the author is well qualified to present a practical textbook on these subjects. Recognizing that many textbooks are too large for the student, he has omitted lengthy discussion and has covered the subjects concisely. The illustrations of the subject of abortion are new and so well done that the student cannot help but understand. The author has wisely placed the subject of pelvimetry and antepartum examinations under the management of normal pregnancy.
