The three previous editions of this book were published in 1878, 1879 and 1889 respectively, and it will be seen that the work has steadily increased in bulk and amount of information.
The author is a firm and consistent advocate of ether as the safest systemic anesthetic. The book has been brought up to date and is one of the most valuable on the subject.
