The first annual meeting of the Fifth District Branch of the New York State Medical Association was held at the Mansion House, Brooklyn, on the 13th of October, and despite the fact that it chanced on the stormiest day of the season, was extremely successful. There were two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, and the first scientific paper at the former was by Dr. Robert Newton, of New York, on the subject, "Progress of Electrolysis in Surgery."
