The principal criticism made on the first edition still holds good, viz., that the book is too pretentious for the student and too incomplete for the embryologist. The entire subject is presented in a most admirable manner, clearly and. concisely. The plan of adding brief "practical suggestions" at the end of each chapter is commendable.
