Abstract

This book of 523 pages includes the subjects of medical physics, chemic philosophy, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, qualitative and quantitative analysis, incompatibility, sanitary chemistry, toxicology, physiologic chemistry, pathologic chemistry, clinic chemistry, not to mention an appendix and a glossary. The various topics are not handled with any great degree of completeness; as a matter of fact, the attempt to condense has in many instances seemed to be at the expense of lucidity. It is stated that it is intended for the use of students of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry; it is certainly not adapted for a student desiring much more than a quizcompend knowledge of the subject. As a condensation of the subjects it covers, however, it seems quite complete and accurate. Modern work on physical chemistry seems to have been slighted.
