The author has succeeded in fulfilling his object in the publication of a work that will meet the demands of both the student and the practitioner. He presents the important facts of physiology in a simple, plain and concise manner, devoid of unnecessary details, rendering it especially valuable as a reference book for the busy practitioner. His long experience as a teacher has been of service, as shown in the arrangement of the material. The chapters on the heart and circulatory system and on the nervous system are especially good.
