Abstract

This brochure, edited by the distinguished Bourneville, is one of the last works of the illustrious Charcot, and is published by permission of Madame Charcot.

This is a scientific exposition of the faith cure; the author freely concedes that certain cases belonging to the domain of hysteria, are sometimes cured by "suggestion," and the philosophic reasons for such a result are given in detail. It is like carrying coals to Newcastle to praise anything written by a master of his art, and we can not do better than to advise our readers to get the pamphlet and read it for themselves.
