—Dr. and Mrs. Arthur H. Mays, Sausalito have started for Europe.—Dr. George F. Brackett, San Francisco, has resigned as chief surgeon of the Emergency Hospital Service.
New Hospital for Stockton.
—Mr. and Mrs. James H. Hough have offered to build and equip a receiving hospital for Stockton and San Joaquim County, provided that the city and county shall maintain the institution thereafter.
Maternity Hospital Opened.
—The maternity wing of the Pasadena Hospital, erected at a cost of $12,000 by the liberality of Mrs. Robert J. Burdette, and to be known as the Clara Baker Burdette Maternity Wing, was formally dedicated, May 2.
German Hospital Plans Approved.
—Plans for the New German Hospital, San Francisco, were approved by the German Benevolent Society, April 29, and $400,000 was voted to defray the expense of construction. The buildings will be thoroughly fire-proof and will be six stories in height.
