Unlicensed Practitioner Fined.
—"Dr." Annie D. Howe, Oakland, was fined $300, January 30, for practicing medicine without a license, and paid the fine.
—Dr. Thomas N. Sample, Fresno, has been elected physician of Fresno County.—Dr. P. C. Campbell, Point Richmond, has been appointed a member of the governor's staff.
Anti-Vaccination Bill Goes to House.
—Senator Leavitt's anti-vaccination bill, after a strenuous fight, was passed by the senate, February 8, by a vote of 22 to 15, and has now gone to the assembly.
—San Francisco is to have an automobile sterilizer weighing four tons, with a maximum speed of five miles an hour, and to cost $4.000. The disinfecting compartment is large enough to hold all the bedding of the household.
—Dr. John W. Johnson, Torrington, opened on February 11 an emergency hospital with a capacity of two beds, later to be increased
