The Editor of The Journal, who has not been in good health for several months, underwent an operation for gallstone disease July 13. The result of the operation confirmed the diagnosis, as a large gallstone was removed from the entrance to the cystic duct. Dr. Simmons is thus far making good progress to recovery. He is expected to be absent perhaps two months for recuperation.
