Dr. Thomas F. Wood.  —Dr. Wood, of Wilmington, N. C., has been chosen to succeed himself, in the Board of Health of his State, as Secretary and Treasurer for a term of six years. He is one of the representatives of the State Medical Society, duly elected by ballot at the last conjoint session of State Society and State Health Board.

Laryngeal Taste.  —Michelson has made, under Langendorff's direction, some careful experiments as to the distribution of the nerves of taste to the under or inner side of the epiglottis, and the results have been published in Virchow's Archiv.
