Gov. Altgeld has selected for Surgeon-General of the Illinois National Guards, Dr. N. Senn of this city. This appointment will give general satisfaction to the physicians of the State who are interested in the elevation of the Medical Service of the National Guards to a high standard of excellence. Doctor Senn has had a large practical experience in this line of work. He is the founder of the National Association of Military Surgeons of the National Guards of the United States and President of that Association since its organization. The Association is composed of the medical officers of the regular Army and the National Guards, and has the official recognition of the General Goverment. The third annual meeting will be held in this city during the month of August in connection with the Worlds Fair.
