Dr. Wm. Osler has resigned the deanship of the Johns Hopkins Medical School.

The late Mrs. Sarah M. Griswold has willed the Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet, Ill., $1,000.

Dr. H. H. Mudd, St. Louis, has been elected dean of the medical department of Washington University.

Commencement exercises of the medical department of the State University, Boulder, Colo., were held May 31.

Dr. John Dean, St. Louis, has resigned the assistant superintendency of the City Hospital to go into private practice.

Dr. H. L. Nietert, superintendent of the City Hospital, St. Louis, gave a farewell dinner to the reretiring internes May 31.

Dr. Wm. E. Quine has withdrawn his resignation as dean of the faculty of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Chicago.

It is officially announced that the plague has appeared on the "Ivory Coast," at Bassam, and vessels from that port are quarantined.
