This book being based on the lectures delivered by the author to the nurses of the Glasgow Maternity Hospital, is necessarily of an elementary nature. Nevertheless, the student, and even the general practitioner, will find much of value in its pages. As the author is an earnest advocate of asepsis rather than antisepsis, he lays down strict rules for the observance of the former. The various antiseptics employed in surgery and the methods of using them are also given.
