Abstract

To the Editor:—  While Dr. Bigg sought the answer to computerized medicine at the recent AMA clinical meeting, his observations refer only to the computerized croupierdoctor. Unable to find a left-handed slot machine, we hooked our computerized player-patient to the roulette wheel. The computer immediately gave his bank roll to the croupier, handing our patient the terse printout, "You lost." Like being told one has cancer, it's no fun learning the truth so quickly.
