The patient who attempts to follow a modified-fat diet should welcome this book. To follow a low-saturated—high-polyunsaturated-fat regimen, the patient must be informed properly. The physician who prescribes modified-fat diets should first read Eat Well and Stay Well to be sure he is in harmony with Dr. Ancel Keys' concepts. If so, the Keyses' revised edition can be recommended with confidence.
I was impressed with the soundness and the depth of the chapters on overweight, obesity, and reducing. These chapters will be most helpful to anyone with a weight problem.
Those who may have some doubt about the position the Keyses take on diet and coronary artery disease will soon have those doubts dispelled. The Keyses do not confuse spades and hearts. Even though the authors are occasionally somewhat dogmatic, the reader is never confused about the source of information. Thus it was pleasing to note the care taken to
