To the Editor:—
It was interesting to read the article by Dr. Haber and his colleagues titled "Ischemic Necrosis of Multiple Organs in Prolonged Shock," in the March 30 issue of The Journal (183:1107). Their explanation for the extensive necrosis of the liver and other organs is very attractive. Since both patients developed this complication following general anesthesia, it would be interesting to know what kind of anesthetic agent or agents were used.
