The 31 contributions, mainly by British authors, deal with administrative problems of psychiatric treatment, particularly in Great Britain since the Mental Health Act of 1959. All the studies have considerable relevance to American problems and cover such topics as the statistics of mental illness, the role of psychiatric hospitals, community services, day hospitals, and industrial therapy.
