Poulos will complement the work of Dr. Joseph Timmes, named last month to direct open-heart surgery, Hanly said. Poulos received a B.S. degree in aeronautical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and later received his M.D. from Cornell University. He is currently assistant professor of surgery at Seton Hall College of Medicine, attending cardiac surgeon at Presbyterian Hospital in Newark, and consulting thoracic surgeon at the Black-Stevenson Cancer Clinic, also in Newark.
