Clarification of Net Reclassification Improvement

JAMA. 2013;310(1):99. doi:10.1001/jama.2013.8142

In the Original Contribution entitled “Association of Fibrosis With Mortaliy and Sudden Cardiac Death in Patients With Nonischemic Dilated Cardiomyopathy,” published in the March 6, 2013, issue of JAMA (2013;309[9]:896-908. doi:10.1001/jama.2013.1363), the paragraph on risk reclassification should be clarified. In the section entitled “Risk Reclassification,” which appears right before the “Comment” section, the fourth sentence of this section should be “The addition of midwall fibrosis yielded an overall net reclassification improvement of 0.26 (95% CI, 0.11-0.41; P = .001).” A few sentences later, the last sentence of the section should be “The overall net reclassification improvement after adding midwall fibrosis status to the risk model was 0.29 (95% CI, 0.11-0.48; P = .002).” This article has been corrected online.
