Since 1981, versions of a document called The Jordan Report (named for William Jordan, MD, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases [NIAID] Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) have regularly updated researchers, policy makers, and others on the state of vaccine research. Last month, the institute released the latest version, which highlights vaccinology triumphs during the 20th century and provides an overview of current vaccine research, including appendices on the status of all vaccines in development.
Copies of The Jordan Report 2000 can be downloaded from the NIAID Web site (http://www.niaid.nih.gov) or ordered by writing to Jordan Report/NIAID OCPL, Bldg 31, Room 7A50; 31 Center Dr, MSC 2520, Bethesda, MD 20892-2520.
