Misspelling Changing Meaning: In the Literatim entitled “Abraham Flexner and His Remarkable Report on Medical Education: A Century Later” published in the March 3, 2010, issue of JAMA (2010;303:888-890), “contract” was misspelled as “contact,” changing the meaning of a sentence. The last sentence of the second paragraph in the left column on page 888 should have read “Less well recalled was Flexner's emphasis on the physician's social contract—a commitment to helping others and the prevention of disease in the population rather than merely the cure of the individual.”
