Incorrect Statement

JAMA. 1998;279(13):994. doi:10.1001/jama.279.13.994

In the Medical News & Perspectives article entitled "As Discoveries Unfold, a New Urgency to Bring Genetic Literacy to Physicians," published in the October 15, 1997, issue of THE JOURNAL (1997;278:1225-1226), an incorrect statement appears. The next to last paragraph of the article should have read as follows: "On a regional level, the Genetic Services Branch of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration [not the Council of Regional Genetics Networks] is also making genetics education a priority, funding 12 projects aimed at primary care providers, such as televised CME courses beamed to rural areas by satellite."
