In the Original Investigation entitled “Health Care–Associated Infection After Red Blood Cell Transfusion: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis,” published in the April 2, 2014, issue of JAMA (2014;311(13):1317-1326. doi:10.1001/jama.2014.2726), the risk ratio for the Gregersen trial appearing in Figure 2, Figure 3, eFigure 1, and eFigure 2 was incorrect. The correct risk ratio was 1.25 (95% CI, 0.87-1.78). In addition, data for the Karam trial (as shown in Figure 2, Figure 3, eFigure 1, eFigure 2) were removed. Additional data were obtained regarding all recorded infections in the FOCUS trial and were included in Figure 2, Figure 3, eFigure 1, and eFigure 2. Orthopedic trials that included urinary tract infections were removed. These corrections led to changes in the pooled summary measures. The article was corrected online.
