This volume is planned primarily to help spellers, but it serves a most useful purpose in aiding the enlargement of a vocabulary and in pronunciation. There are several chapters dealing with pronunciation and spelling, several chapters indicating the origins of unusual words and other useful lists. Every one interested in words as such and in the improvement of their use will find this book an aid to the task. The author is the editor of the well known Roget Thesaurus and Dictionary.
