Abstract

The Annual Medical Week at Balatonfüred  The Medical Week, which is held annually at Balatonfüred, the picturesque bathing resort on the shore of Lake Balaton, was well attended this year, an unusual number of physicians, in view of the economic situation, being attracted by the interesting program and the entertainment offered by the management.Prof. E. Neuber read a paper on the causes of complaints following gallstone operations. The cause of the complaints may be sought in the complications that accompany gallstone disease, which can be abolished with the removal of the stones in almost every case. Gallstones rarely recur after their operative removal. It is safe to say that once in a thousand instances postoperative complaints are in close connection with the operation itself; but this does not mean that these postoperative complaints are due to the formation of new stones.
