The author, who is widely known as a biologist and anthropologist, reviews here the origin and history of the races of mankind throughout the world. He conceives that there have been many dìvergents from various ancestral stocks. Much of the study has been made at first hand by the author, particularly among the Polynesians and Melanesians. The scholarly character of the study, the excellent bibliography and a comprehensive index make this among the best available books in its field.
