The July 7 issue of The Journal (181:41) introduced the new department of Negative Results. I would like to congratulate you on the formulation and incorporation of this section. There is a tremendous need for these important communications involving negative results in drug administration and other forms of therapy, as well as in some clinical investigations of symptoms and signs.As you stated in the introductory editorial, a great many people are reluctant to go to the trouble of publishing negative results. They feel, as you indicated, that The Journal is not interested in such papers and that readers would hesitate to peruse the details in a long paper covering such material. Therefore, I think it is very wise that this important section is to appear in a brief form. After a few years, you may very well accumulate some most important data which will certainly
