The development of a 40-month-old boy was studied who had been subjected to hypothermia of 83 F when his mother underwent craniotomy and clipping of an intracranial aneurysm during the eighth month of pregnancy. He was found to function at a high average intellectual level and without perceptual or motor disabilities suggestive of cerebral dysfunction.
