Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Check back here for updates on COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is entering a second phase as nations who saw a flattening of their incidence curves with mitigation strategies feel compelled to loosen public health restrictions. The overwhelming of heath care capacity that many had feared never materialized in most settings, but vulnerable populations continue to get infected and have poor outcomes as questions remain about effective treatments, duration of immunity, and long-term approaches to reopening schools and society.

Browse the JAMA Network COVID-19 collection below, including Q&A's with NIAID's Anthony Fauci, an interactive map of the outbreak courtesy of The Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, and past publications on vaccine development, infection control, and public health preparedness.
