BOOM
200 Joules
Like a stallion’s hoof
And fine fibrillation
becomes normal sinus.
Baby’s kick restored
Gravid mother revived
Supernovas ignite
A brave new world
Of procedures and medicines
and electrified miracles.
Her uterus swells
Rhythmic life evolves
And tissues beat
until term.
So a new family
is born in fire
As creation of their son
Follows the impulse
of a physician’s wire.
