In Reply I thank Dixon et al for their letter, which adds important points to this discussion of cardiovascular team-based care.1 I suspect that the reason pharmacists were not mentioned in the previous commentaries is because the role of pharmacists in cardiovascular team-based care is usually very clear and unambiguous. The important role of clinical pharmacists was emphasized in the 2015 ACC Health Policy Statement on Cardiovascular Team-Based Care2 and is well summarized in their letter. I agree that pharmacists are well trained and well qualified, and evidence shows that they help improve patient outcomes. We should continue to enthusiastically welcome pharmacists as important contributors to cardiovascular team-based care.
