On histopathologic examination, there were angulated glandular islands present in the reticular dermis (Figure 2). At higher magnification, the glands were lined with a single columnar cell layer that was embedded in a vascular and cellular stroma typical of endometrial tissue. There was no pronounced mitotic activity, cellular atypia, or other evidence of malignancy (Figure 3).
