Over the past few years dermatologists have become increasingly aware of the rising incidence of malignant melanoma. For this reason numerous campaigns have been launched to alert and educate the general population. An early diagnosis will enable a physician to excise neoplasms in their initial stages when they are thinner and the likelihood of curing the patient is higher.1-3 Nevertheless, every procedure has drawbacks, and only what is necessary should be done.
