On histopathologic examination, an intracartilaginous cavity was present below the reticular dermis (Figure 2, arrows). The cavity was lined with granulation tissue (Figure 3, arrows) that dissected through the midplate of the cartilage (Figure 4, arrow). The surrounding cartilage appeared normal.
