To the Editor We read with great interest the Viewpoint by Chen and Shinkai1 on rethinking the paradigm by which dermatology applicants are selected. However, we believe that 1 additional imperative consideration should have been addressed—the role of the research fellowship and its implications for dermatology resident selection.
