We agree that the safety and affordability of cosmetics and personal care products explicitly marketed toward the pediatric population is important to public health. In a recent publication of all adverse events (AE) submitted to the US Food and Drug Administration surrounding cosmetics and personal care products from 2004 to 2016, baby products were associated with the highest percentage of self-reported serious AEs (eg, death, serious injury, or hospitalization).1
