To the Editor Patient organizations exist to support and improve the lives of people with chronic diseases and disabilities. The article by Li et al, “Prevalence and Disclosure of Potential Conflicts of Interest in Dermatology Patient Advocacy Organizations,”1 published online in JAMA Dermatology on January 30, 2019, highlights the importance of providing transparency and addressing potential conflicts of interest by these organizations. The National Health Council (NHC) and our patient advocacy organization members agree and have been leading the way in transparency and managing conflicts.
