In recent years, our field has watched the progress made as machine learning (ML) is applied to medicine, with ever-improving results.1-5 As we inch closer to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) models to clinical decision-support tools in the practice of dermatology, it is natural that we see with greater clarity not only the possibilities but also the numerous challenges and obstacles that mark the path.
