Histologic analysis of the nipplelike projection showed many vellus hair follicles and sebaceous and eccrine glands in the upper dermis. Some terminal hair follicles were scattered in the periphery. Nerve bundles were also present. Haphazardly oriented individual fibers and bundles of mature striated muscle were interspersed in the dermis and among the adnexae. There were collagen fibers and islands of mature adipocytes between the striated muscle. Some muscle fibers were perpendicular to the epidermis in the upper reticular dermis. The histologic features were typical of an RMH.1
