The Archives of Dermatology initiated Online First as a means to bring our readers important new articles in an expedited manner. Each month, 4 to 5 Online First articles will be published online within 6 to 8 weeks of their acceptance, followed by print publication 4 months after the online publication. Commentaries, such as Editorials and Practice Gaps, about the Online First articles are published in print. We select the most exciting and important articles to appear quickly. This initiative is part of our efforts to expedite the peer review process and reduce the time from acceptance to publication for important, clinically relevant advances that are of great interest to us all.
