An Erythematous Noduloplaque on the Trunk

Microscopic sections stained with hematoxylin-eosin showed a dermal tumor composed of bundles and interlacing fascicles of spindle cells with pleomorphic oval to spindle-shaped nuclei (Figure 2). Numerous mitotic figures were present. The tumor extended into subcutaneous tissue. Necrosis was not identified. Immunohistochemical staining was positive for desmin (Figure 3) and smooth muscle actin.
