Birt-Hogg-Dube syndrome (BHDS) is an autosomal dominant disorder characterizedby multiple fibrofolliculomas, trichodiscomas, and acrochordons. Some patientsalso exhibit multiple hidradenomas. Extracutaneous manifestations are rareand include renal cell carcinoma, colonic polyps, and recurrent spontaneouspneumothorax.
Treatment for the disfiguring skin lesions is limited. We describe acase of BHDS treated successfully with carbon dioxide and Er:YAG laser skinresurfacing.
