A 16-year-old boy presented with swelling of his lower lip and wrinkling of the skin over his eyelids that he had had since childhood. These complaints had developed progressively over the last 8 years, following recurrent episodes of edema of the lower lip and periorbital area. Over the years, the eyelid edema resolved and the eyelid skin appeared atrophic and redundant, whereas theswelling of the lip became more persistent. No other family member had similar complaints, and the patient did not have any systemic symptoms.
