In this new work of Brocq's, which he dedicates as his last medical publication, the author states that he wishes to present a text which, from the standpoint of size, will occupy a position midway between his "Traite elementaire de dermatology pratique" of 1907, and the "Consultations dermatologiques" of 1911. The present text is not offered as an abridgment of the Traite, for the work has been revised and brought up to date, while much of the earlier work has been omitted entirely, principally the tables of differential diagnosis and all considerations of a purely scientific or theoretical nature. Thus the present volume is designed to meet the needs of the general practitioner, and may be compared with the larger American texts in its size and scope.
