Abstract

Synonyms for granulosis rubra nasi are: a peculiar form of acne with changes in the sweat glands (Luithlen); perisyringitis chronica nasi (Jadassohn); dermatitis micropapulosa or granularis erythematosa hyperidrotica chronica nasi (infantum) (Jadassohn); granulosis rubra nasi e hyperidrosi or granulosis rubra nasi cum hyperidrosi (Walther Pick); a peculiar inflammatory dermatitis of the nose in young persons with sweating (Herrmann); false acne rosacea in children (Audry); a form of chronic erythema of the nose in children (Dubreuilh).

The lack of a comprehensive review of this disorder in American literature coupled with its apparent rarity here seem sufficient reasons to justify a review of the subject plus the study of a personal case.
