To the Editior:—The October, 1954, issue of the A. M. A. Archives of Dermatology and Syphilology carried an article by Dr. Walter B. Shelley, entitled "Professors of Dermatology in American Medical Schools, 1867-1953." This article unfortunately contained a number of errors of omission and commission with reference to the heads of departments of dermatology in the five medical schools of Philadelphia.

Anyone interested can find more detailed data on this subject in the section entitled "Teaching of Dermatology in the Medical Schools of Philadelphia" (Chapter XXVI) of my recently published book "A History of Dermatology in Philadelphia."
