The featured subject in this edition concludes the discussion begun in last year's edition of allergic eczematous contact dermatitis, and considers test procedures, prophylaxis, and treatment, including treatment with corticosteroids and corticotropin (ACTH). Included also are suggestions for the making of a routine screening tray and a long list of materials with concentrations and vehicles to be used in patch-testing. The remainder of the book adheres to the format of previous editions—careful selection of articles for abstracting with pertinent, crisp editorial comments. The division of material is practical, with sections devoted to treatment of various kinds, eczematous and drug eruptions, cancers, infections, miscellaneous dermatoses, and a section of 75 pages devoted to other investigative studies dealing chiefly with fundamentals of pathophysiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, etc.
Baer and Witten have again placed us in their debt with this edition of the Year Book.
